Technical Specs and Infrastructure:

MessageBird uses a combination of in-house and third-party infrastructure to deliver its services.

It runs on top of a globally distributed, high-availability infrastructure built on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.

MessageBird uses a RESTful API to enable communication with its services and supports several programming languages, including Java, PHP, Python, and Ruby.

Security Protocols and Breaches:

MessageBird follows strict security protocols to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its customers’ data.

It has implemented measures such as encryption, access control, and monitoring to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.

In 2020, MessageBird disclosed a data breach where a third-party contractor had unauthorized access to a small number of customer data, which was promptly contained and resolved.

APIs Used:

SMS API: For sending and receiving SMS messages globally.

Voice API: For making and receiving phone calls.

Conversations API: For building chat and messaging apps.

Video API: For embedding video calls into apps.

API Performance:

MessageBird boasts a 99.9% uptime guarantee, with a Service Level Agreement (SLA) for enterprise customers.

It provides real-time message delivery and analytics with a delivery rate of 99.8% for SMS messages and 99.99% for voice calls.

MessageBird supports two-way messaging and provides features such as message scheduling, number lookup, and verification.

Downtime:

However, like any cloud service, there have been minor outages that have been resolved quickly.
